Omaze is an online fundraising platform. They offer dream-come-true experiences online that anyone has the chance to win. Omaze leverages the power of celebrities to drive donations and raise awareness. And, that’s particularly evident when it comes to their email marketing campaigns.
Below is an example of one of the Omaze emails I’ve received from “George Clooney.” Of course, this the sender was actually <[email protected]> set up to appear to come from George Clooney. Nonetheless, it got my attention. In addition, to using the “from” field to get noticed, they also got personal in the subject line. They’re using the recipients first name in the subject to make the email feel more intimate. Many marketers find that including a recipients name significantly increases open rates.
Then, when you open the email, the Call to Action (CTA) is very clear. Omaze keeps is visual and focuses on a single action they want the recipient to take. This simplicity and design-forward approach will be a common theme as we look at the next examples.

Sephora certainly recognizes the power of personalization. Their email marketing campaigns contain personal details that deliver relevance. Sephora’s emails usually include the number of Beauty Insider points a customer has racked up. Also, they often include product recommendations tailored to the recipient.
These types of product recommendations are becoming more common for eCommerce brands. They’re using buying and browsing history to create recommendations specific to individual customers. So, after you use subject lines to increase your open rates, product recommendations will help you increase your CTR.
